Daffodil Days

Oh and can I tell you how happy I was to see the Daffodil Days sign at our local Flower shop? I watch for it and hope for it because it means Spring is here! And I buy up many bundles of the sunshiny buds and deliver them to friends who need to see the end to a long winter!! And then they all start to open and the promise of Spring is more than a promise!!

Also after a date with my lovely Miss B... we came home with the Percy Jackson book series. I have not read it but it must be good she is riveted and making her way through book two! Blossom and read!!!

Maple Syrup time!!

Look it is Ireland in the snow!!!

I get excited when the Maple Syrup days come to the Chippewa Nature Center! It means the thaw is coming! We are almost out of the wintry woods so to speak! So after a crankified day at work, I met my gang out there for a mucky trudge on the trails and the feel of the sun and a hint at the season to come. Bronwyn packed up all her journals and notebooks and tries to be scientific, and Ella does her model poses and runs till she has a mud spatter pattern all the way up her backside, and me I happily plod in my best purchase of the Winter 2009 my Bogs, and the Irishman thankfully captures our day on film. Ironically, it has been a bad syrup year up here due to TOO WARM of temperatures!! Mixed blessings I would say! Hope all are enjoying the promise of sun!

Some days all you need is a laugh...

This face was how our day started...
Ella said look I can spell wow... with her fingers
for w's and her mouth for the o...she greeted my
sleep deprived, joint aching self in the bathroom
this morning. To say this is just what I needed is
a complete understatement. A big ole goofy belly
laugh puts the world in better perspective.
Then we had a morning of faces

Days...

Days are going by so very fast...Bronwyn is growing up faster than I can wrap my head around...she is changing in the way she carries herself, how she speaks, how she thinks...and ready or not here it comes...Ella is getting ready to start Kindergarten...my baby...real school...I am not ready for all this letting go yet I know it is truly just the beginning...I wish I could just hold onto it all for just a few minutes to truly absorb all of it...and to help this contemplative mood is our much cooler, breezier weather...I love, love, love these days...snuggle days, cardies and blankie days, coffee and tea days...candles and music days...reading and book days...hints of fall to come days!!!

And today I wander into the bathroom and out of the corner of my eye, I see little princess duck perched in just enough water to stay afloat...and I laughed...so unexpected, so darn cute, so never dull is our world...

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you who are and all of you who claim to be Irish...

We are having a very quiet one here at home. Couch time for Mama, computer time for Papa and creating time for the lovelies. Bronwyn is writing her own book of jokes right now and they seem to crack her and Ella up....although I am afraid they may be lost on the over 7 set. Now she too has given that over for dancing....they keep saying "Is this exercise???" What a slug I feel like sitting here typing away!!

Ella is burning out her boundless stores of energy, she was "working out" as she called it earlier running from one end of the house to the other and is now doing "nastics" and dancing...so I am betting she collapses here in about 30 minutes!! I also bet it will be I carrying her little self to bed as I bet she will be all out of momentum for the stairs!!

I should be up getting a bed made for my parents as they are coming Wed. for the Easter Weekend. The girls are off Thurs-Sun. and I have my goal set for an early bed time for me tonight!!! Two late shifts and an early today was more than my little body can handle!!!
