Fifteen years...

Happy Anniversary to my best friend...

It has been fifteen years since we made this life of ours together official...let me tell you I cannot fathom how it could be so long when at the most it feels like a month. Life is just such a whirlwind, it is like it stops spinning for a moment and there it is...you get a glimpse of where you are then it just starts back up spinning around you again... But one thing I know in all the whirling is that I am truly blessed. I have got to spend my time in this life with my best friend. The one person in the world I can always talk to, the one person who gets me, the one person who always makes me laugh...I couldn't be more fortunate. He brings me peace and makes a very good resting place for my very busy head. May we have each other for another lifetime of adventure and giggles!

See the lovely lady on the end in the green? Yes her! I love her...she is loving and healing and uplifting and no-nonsense. She is bar none the best masseuse I have ever been to. She nurtures and she heals and she infuses spirit and energy and all things pleasing to help you mend and find your peace, all in a one hour span in her inviting home, and when you are done she hugs you and sends you home with candles and positive thoughts and musings...and most of all she sends you home with serenity....the world could use a few more people like her...

Where on earth did 14 years go??? It seems just like yesterday you were asking me to fetch a stick on an Irish beach and now here we are amid the crazies still finding time to see each other and hear each other...in this home and life we have made together. I like us. I like how we complement each other and are really partners in this marriage. How you lift me up....you steady me.... and you make me laugh when I really believe I can't. Thank you John!! Thanks for the everyday things that make life so much better! I love you now and always!!! xoxoxoxo (a day early!! )

Good mornings...

Ok so really my house isn't quite this dirty...but this morning I came down to the kitchen to find a lovely little message in the dirt!!! (dirt that had hidden itself under the kohlrabi from the csa) And better yet I went all goofy inside! Once upon a time, there were letters, many, many letters that passed between us now there is love in dirt!!! How far we have come in our 19 yrs of togetherness!! I am a lucky woman!!

Easter...

Happy Easter to all!! As you can see our eggs took a new direction this year!! When you forget the coloring improvise! I actually love the new styled eggs!! We are hanging out at home today and having dinner later ham and a tofurky roast for the vegetarian! We are having a few people over to share it all with us! I have a lovely pavlova ready to be assembled which is going to need a little repair but should still be yummy!

Above are views of a "new" cabinet I found to try and manage our clothing issues in the girls' room. I had been looking for a couple of inexpensive wardrobes but really wasn't finding much that I wanted in my home so I thought while John and I were out for our day sans children we could have a poke around the local antique mall. When I saw this cabinet I knew it was it...it had the shelves we needed and the color was even a good fit for future room re-painting that has been requested by our fashionistas!! The ladies helped clean and scrub and they worked to weed down the clothes stash so as to fit into said cabinet and voila we have clothes control!! I had thought of frosting the glass or putting some fabric in the window but the ladies said they like seeing the colors of the clothes so that works for me!! And with the new cabinet a new little nook was created for a much loved little doll, name this week Tika.

And as if this feat wasn't enough, I have had a few evenings out and about with my much loved Irishman. I feel just giddy and silly and like I got time to fall in love with him all over again!! Thanks Grandparents!!

LOVE IS...

I don't know if anyone else remembers them, but in the 70's possibly late 60's there were little books and card series with a little naked boy and girl on them and the title was Love is... and there would be some cute or comical one liner underneath...well I definitely got my Love is... moment last night!

I work a late shift on Saturday night, so my gang is usually all tucked into their beds by the time I get home. So when I walked into the kitchen last night I found the magna doodle message above!! You see, I discovered the glory of shawls this year and usually as soon as I walk into my very chilly Michigan abode I encircle myself with one and Himself introduced me to hot water bottle love last year (the Irish use them for survival right up there with tea!!) . My favorite late night, guilty pleasure is fresh popped popcorn. On the stove top, with salt and a good dose of butter! So my dear heart had the oil in the pan the butter ready to be melted and the popcorn in the measuring cup waiting to be poured in!!! Really what more could a girl ask for??? So now something new you know about me, I am really and truly spoiled!!!
